Alum Chine is a popular holiday location, situated between Bournemouth and Poole, with fantastic sandy beaches, Alum chine is the perfect choice for a family holiday or for those seeking a quieter location than Bournemouth. A short walk through picturesque woodland going from the Chine, brings you to the trendy shops, boutiques, pubs and restaurants of Westbourne.
Westbourne is a lively and busy suberb of Bournemouth, which is well worth a visit. A local bus stops at the beach terminus to take you there if preferred.
Bournemouth is not far away and can be reached by walking along the Promenade or beach to the Pier, this very pleasant walk takes around 20 - 30 minutes depending on how many times you stop to enjoy the scenery!
If you don't fancy the walk a land train runs along the Promenade, from the Chine approx 150 metres from the Studland Dene Develpoment.
Alum Chine is conveniently situated between the town's of Bournemouth & Poole. Walking in one direction along the Promenade in the direction of Poole you will reach Branksome Chine which offers a beautiful beach, ideal for Children. In the other direction toward Bournemouth you will find Durley Chine with its very popular pub, the Durley Inn, the ideal place to stop for a drink or a bite to eat whilst enjoying the sea views.
Dining options in the area are vast, offering an array of choice from Edge, Studland Dene's onsite restaurant, Vesuvio on the Beach at Alum Chine or Chez Fred, Westbournes famous fish and chip restaurant! More choice is available by venturing further afield to Bournemouth, Poole and the beautiful surrounding Dorset area.
